The Regional Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LREC) is organizing the international workshop on natural hazards NATHAZ19, subordinated, in this issue, to the theme “Hydrological Risks”. This event will take place on Pico Island, in Azores archipelago, Portugal, on May 9th and 10th, 2019. This is the second edition of the International Workshop promoted and organized by LREC to be held every two years on one of the Azores islands, which had its beginning in 2016.

The purpose of this workshop is to disseminate and discuss the most recent developments in Natural Hazards, thematic that is transversal to practically all the countries of the world.
